Shade stops at a bar on his way to Montana and runs into a gang of unruly bikers. Must Shade resort to the madness, or should he allow Sadist Shade, his alter ego, to take charge of his identity?Shade is making his way back to Kathy, but on his journey he stops at a bar where he wishes to just drink and be anonymous but his flamboyant coat gets him in trouble when a biker starts harassing him and calling him "Pretty Boy". This confrontation comes to a head when the biker again attacks him in the bathroom where Shade is busy talking with his "brother", Hades. Shade uses the Madness to distort his face into a beast causing the biker to collapse in believing he has just seen the Devil.Shade then gives control to Hades and the next thing he knows, it's morning and he's in bed with the girl of the lead biker, he has nail marks in his back and a tattoo on his torso...Kathy meanwhile remains at her Uncle's house and is excited when Lenny arrives with a stolen car and a cowboy blow-up doll, the two begin to kindle a romance and begin to plan a road trip, only to have Shade return. The meet-up isn't the running into each other's arms that it should have been, and in fact Shade feels more like he's lost Kathy but she does invite him on their road trip and the trio sets out on the road...
